The Modern Firm named Digital Firm of the Year at the 2026 Digital Disruptor Awards

We are delighted to share that The Modern Firm has been named Digital Firm of the Year at the 2026 Digital Disruptor Awards, hosted by The Loop on 14 September, with our category sponsored by AdvanceTrack.

It means a great deal, not least because of how these awards work. Nominations come from the accounting technology community itself, and the shortlist is judged by an independent panel. It is not an award you can put yourself forward for.

We started in 2025 with a simple conviction: practices modernising their operations need a partner, not just another piece of software. In under two years, we have grown into The Modern Firm Group, working with accounting and legal practices across the UK.

‍

The Loop described us as already redefining how accountancy firms are structured around technology, and called it remarkable reach for a firm so young. Coming from people who know this profession inside out, that is the part we are proudest of.

Our founder, Luke Farren, said: "This means a huge amount to the whole team. When we started less than two years ago, all I could promise was that we would do the work properly. Being recognised by an independent panel tells us that approach is working, and this belongs to everyone at HQ."

We were up against strong firms in this category, and we want to congratulate the other finalists for Digital Firm of the Year: Moore Kingston Smith, Digital Transformers, Ascendant, and Factotum. All five of us are pushing this industry forward in different ways, and it's a genuinely good sign for the profession that there's this much serious digital transformation happening across accountancy practices right now.
